everyone is creative.
My core belief is that everyone is creative. Never doubt your creativity. Get bored, play, don't focus on the end product. It's about the process. If you just let yourself get creative and play, then you will surprise yourself. Doing this is essential to mental health- you will benefit greatly in your everyday life if you take time to play.
Donate to Artsy Cartsy!
I am developing the idea of "Artsy Cartsy" (thank you to my partner Kris for the name). Artsy Cartsy is an arts studio portable studio that specializes in process-based art-making using art supplies and recycled material. My love for this form of art-making stemmed from my first introduction to Virginia Myer's teachings when I first became involved at Living Arts of Tulsa in 2010.
After the closure of ahha Tulsa, I wanted to give Tulsa a outlet that empowers people of all ages through creativity. Artsy Cartsy will be available for hire for events and will have various price points for different art activities. There will also be activities tailored to age groups, such as toddlers, kids, teens, adults and older persons. I am also focusing on under-served areas of Tulsa County, as I have been working with these areas for the majority of my career in arts administration.
This will also lead to an eventual brick-and-mortar business, which I am also accounting for in this fundraiser.
The philosophy of "Artsy Cartsy" is as follows:
My core belief is that everyone is creative. Never doubt your creativity. Get bored, play, don't focus on the end product. It's about the process. If you just let yourself get creative and play, then you will surprise yourself. Doing this is essential to mental health- you will benefit greatly in your everyday life if you take the time to play.
commissions.
Artists do what they love....and it is valuable
I create custom artwork in various media. I specialize in something called "humanoid pets"....it may not be your style, but if it is, I am happy to create a humanized version of your pet! I also love to paint people as well.
Below are the prices for paintings on canvas. All canvases will come wired and ready to hang. Prices vary between media and size. Let me know if you prefer acrylic or oil paint. Please allow a minimum of 4-8 weeks from the start date of the painting- I will let you know how many are in cue ahead of your commission.
When ordering a commissioned artwork, I will ask you to describe the commission you are interested in. For example, if you are interested in a humanoid version of your pet, please tell me how you visualize them. A used Car Sales Man? A clown? Also list toys, treats, and other things your pet likes if you'd like it personalized.
When you decide to commission a piece, I require half the price down before, then the other half can be paid when the art is complete. If you are out-of-state, the commissioner will be responsible the shipping costs in full.
I require as many high resolution photos as you can send to get the best likeness in your custom artwork.
I accept Venmo, Cashapp, cash and check.

Artist inspirations: the work of Jenny Saville. Her work was honest, grotesque and brave. Her brushstrokes are emulated in my paintings until this day. Her color palette is rich, her forms fleshy, and her subjects seem to live in a world of punk culture. Subsequently, I was also inspired by the work of Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, and Egon Schiele.
